Working Visit of the Minister of Economic Development and Trade of the Republic of Tajikistan, Abdurahmonzoda Abdurahmon Safarali, to the Panj Free Economic Zone

On January 10, 2026, the Minister of Economic Development and Trade of the Republic of Tajikistan, Abdurahmonzoda Abdurahmon Safarali, conducted a working visit to the Panj Free Economic Zone to learn about infrastructure development, the activities of economic entities, investment promotion, and the implementation of priority projects.
This visit was carried out in accordance with the instructions and directives of the Founder of Peace and National Unity – Leader of the Nation, President of the Republic of Tajikistan, Honorable Emomali Rahmon, and the Government of the country, aimed at strengthening the development of the national economy, improving the investment climate, supporting entrepreneurship, and effectively utilizing the opportunities offered by free economic zones.
During the visit, Abdurahmonzoda A. S. familiarized himself with the conditions created for domestic and foreign investors, as well as the production process.
Eighteen domestic and foreign companies are registered as entities in the Panj Free Economic Zone, with investment volume to date amounting to approximately 76 million somoni. Furthermore, industrial production volume in 2025 is expected to reach 17 million somoni, with 64 people provided with permanent jobs.
Abdurahmonzoda A. S. held meetings with administration staff, entrepreneurs, and investors to discuss the use of tax and customs incentives, simplification of administrative procedures, and attracting direct investment. It was noted that free economic zones are an important tool for national economic development, facilitating the creation of new jobs, the introduction of modern technologies, and the growth of competitive manufacturing. It was also emphasized that the zone’s geographic location creates favorable conditions for the development of cross-border trade, logistics, and industrial production.
At the end of the visit, the management and staff of the Panj Free Economic Zone administration were given specific instructions to address existing problems, strengthen outreach efforts, present investment opportunities, and effectively utilize existing potential.
